STEP ONE

Before I blah bla about the boring stuff.

I'll be attending Anime St. George on the 10th. I will be going as Quistis again. ~DaHoodie will be Irvine and ~Rhies said she will be going as Rinoa. ~Ryoko-sama62 might be showing up as... well, Ryoko. I wont have like any money for spending so I decided I'm going to be taking lots of pictures of cosplayers. I've got a business cards to pass out telling where to find them, cause I really hate getting my photo taken and not being able to find them. I never get and good shots of myself. Anyways If you want a good cosplay photo taken come and find meh, or I might find you. >:3 I'll also have some paper for if you want a sketchie.

Also ~Rhies and I are going to try and get an artist booth for Anime Fannatiku. It will be our first try at doing an artist table, so we'll see how it goes. If you could give us any ideas on what to do for products, that would be great. We're working on a Vocaloid and Disgaea fanbook. I've been putting together a site for our circle as well. [link] I hope we at least break even.

One ~DaHoodie's co-workers saw some of my arkwork, and he owns a side business doing arts and crafts. Anyways he does these lovely pieces where he carves out some wood and embeds a photo into the wood with heavy gloss. They look really pretty. Well he wants to do a line of them using my artwork. He's going to show me them when he's done. He said the prints came out really nice so I'm excited. It could mean some extra money for me. I might be making his website as well.

The job hunt hasn't really shown much in results unfortunately. I've only had two interviews. Those never lead to anything unfortunately. It makes me feel so completely useless. It makes me sad. I know my work ethic, and I know I work hard and I work fast and get things done right, but apparently that's not enough. I don't have an "in" with someone there. The only job I've gotten without an "in" was waitressing at JBs, going further to prove that its not what you know, but who you know. That kind of mentality bothers me. I know so many places that pass up so many talented people because so-and-so's cousin of the owner needs a job and is too lazy to look for one. Bleh!

It seems our oldest cat Nacho isn't going to last the week. She lost a few teeth about a month ago, so the family has been putting her in a room by herself to give her some wet food. For whatever reason she's completely stopped eating. She was skinny in the first place, but now she's so skinny she can barely walk. It makes me cry. I got her to eat some when I was there, but it wasn't enough to make a bump in that poor skinny tummy of hers. T^T

Anyways, a while back me and my roomie ~DaHoodie adopted a kitty for us to spoil and snuggle. She kinda got in a little hot water the first week we had her. We went on a trip to Vegas and when we got back I found Louie's birdcage on the ground with no Louie. She ATE MY BIRD! She wont touch anything but cat food, but she'll eat my bird. Dang cat is too cute not to forgive though.

I'm heading out to Vegas with some friends for the free Three Dog Night concert on Fremont Street and will quite possibly be making it to Anime Vegas for Monday. Gunna Toss together a quick Irvine costume for ~DaHoodie And I plan on showing my Ooogly mug as Quistis for the day. If anyone corners me to say hi, I'll have some small bits of paper with me so you can grab a free doodle if you want. Just look for the nerdiest looking girl there and it would prolly be me.

Still looking for a job. That hasn't changed yet. I think I'm dealing with some mondo depression, and I haven't really left the house much since Mid July. A lot of times I feel too sick to do anything and I only get out when my roomy forces me to. Ironically I've been out and about more then I was ever able to do while I was employed, but when your only obligation is job hunting which takes maybe an hour to check all the job boards It feels like your trapped at home forever.

Ive been addicted to a song called Summits Collapse. [link] Not sure why but its so catchy. I hadn't heard a good Vocaloid song in quite a while and suddenly a ton of really good ones pop up! ^^o So happy!

Now the terror promised! BWAAHAAAHAA! You can call him scary all you want but I got him when I was born. He's a very old dog and kind of gangly. But to me he's adorable. Meet Fufu!

Its been a little over a month since I've updated this thing. Seems like I never have anything fun to say and this time is no acceptation.

1) I was one of the lucky 12,000 to 14,000 people laid off by Gannett last month. Of course when revenue is down and your trying to vest your interests in creating better advertising it makes total sense to get rid of one of your most productive artists right? WHY OF COURSE IT DOES! And you should totally make sure that NO ONE is properly trained to take over doing classifieds and the weekly shopper so you can lose even more revenue from newbie mistakes. You should also make sure to keep sales reps that are under selling ,causing problems, lying and causing thousands of dollars in advertising credits on unapproved ads. That my friends is the pathway to success right there.

Of course I've made mistakes, but my biggest mistakes came from not catching others mistakes, and I think the nail in my proverbial coffin came from just that. I have no way to prove if it was my mistake or someone else, I wouldn't want to point fingers either way. I would however take the blame for not properly checking through all the checklists like I usually did, but that was likely due to me being short on hours in the first place and skipping the checklist to save me a half an hour of time after getting all my content two hours late. It was one of those things I would only find a problem with once every year too. Murphy's law really phucked my up the ass on that one.

2) Anyways, I'm getting to do the job hunting thing after three years. Quite frankly there is really nothing there. I've submitted resume after resume to every place I could think of that does graphic arts. Most places really just aren't looking. I've had one interview so far for a place called LearnKey as a graphic artist. I'm really holding out hope that I get it. I'll hopefully find out in a week or two. I've also applied to be a pressman for West Press. Their running a Heidelberg, which is far more automated then anything I've ever run. I would have to be trained, so I'm prolly not very appealing to them.

3) I'm currently fighting with the TSA and the Post Office. With the Post office I may just go in there and go postal. I will more then likely come out at a long sequence of squeeks. They lost my state tax forms. Called the Utah State Tax commission to find out why I hadn't gotten my return, only to find out they never received it. WTF!!!

Next battle with the TSA ALSO has to do with the post office. Last week I got a final pay notice for my civil suit with them. Apparently my appeal for a fee reduction was denied because I make to much money. Not that I would have known that, cause guess what?... It got lost in the mail. So instead of ass-raping me $125 like they were going to in the first place they wanted $250. I got in touch with my case worker and they took away the final notice and are giving me three months to pay the $125. Lucky me...

4) I'm working on some artwork as well as some crafty stuff right now to keep me busy. Trying to clean up my place some as well. Came to the decision that I have way to much scrap material so I'm going to make a few things and sell them on my artfire [link] . Prolly going to make some kitty hats soon. Either way, I can get rid of unwanted material and maybe make some much needed bucks.

Anyways, thus is my life now. Feels like a rolling dung pile currently. (Well to me at least) Hopefully I'll have some better news to share.
